I met GoSwedish on YouTube and we collaborated on this app. Quite pleased with how it turned out. I learned a ton of Swedish and I hope others do as well! More about GoSwedish…

“Bester was. Bester is. Bester the will be.”
Don’t try to count the grammatical mistakes - your head will explode. Just enjoy.
The grid system is everywhere (and always has been).

Threw a PLA “100% biodegradable cup” in my compost bin to see how long it would take to turn into compost. Forgot about it, and 8-months later found it again. It’s in perfect condition. Apparently it only turns to compost in a special “commercial compost facility”. If not, it breaksdown like a regular plastic cup. i.e. Never. I’m disappointed: In both the product and the marketing.
This is an interface for an iphone self-hypnosis app I’m working on. A session is composed of a series of audio clips, and the challenge was to show that these clips were related.
I realized that the rounded corners made them appear more like independent items, and but by only rounding the top and the bottom items in the list, it made them part of a group.
(btw, the colours in the background are not strictly part of the UI but are some groovy visuals that are triggered by the hypnotist’s voice. Just eye candy.)

Dear Quicktax: Your interface blows. You’ve actually managed to make the paper tax forms look easy.
That’s your pushpin icon, Microsoft? It’s like you aren’t even trying anymore.
Goes to show: If anything is possible than nothing is interesting. Limitations can lead to wonderful ideas.
Tweenbots, an adorable robot/social experiment.
In New York City, we are very occupied with getting from one place to another. […] Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.
Static visualization of a BubbleSort (because animated visualizations have “all the explanatory power of a glob of porridge flung against a wall.”) (via hatful of hollow - Visualising Sorting Algorithms)
Cardboard cutouts for iPhone interface design are clever! My approach was to use iPhone storyboard templates that can be printed out.
