Threw a PLA “100% biodegradable cup” in my compost bin to see how long it would take to turn into compost. Forgot about it, and 8-months later found it again. It’s in perfect condition. Apparently it only turns to compost in a special “commercial compost facility”. If not, it breaksdown like a regular plastic cup. i.e. Never. I’m disappointed: In both the product and the marketing.
