Playing with my iPhone app Montager on the iPad and it looks *far* better than I thought it would. Normally when running iPhone-only apps on the iPad, graphics look blocky since the pixels are doubled in size and interpolated. (Kind of like the blurry Montager watermark in the bottom right.) But the iPad is actually resizing the images correctly. I designed the app to draw to an off-screen high resolution bitmap to output hi-res images, but it was still surprising to see it work so well on-screen as well.

Threw a PLA “100% biodegradable cup” in my compost bin to see how long it would take to turn into compost. Forgot about it, and 8-months later found it again. It’s in perfect condition. Apparently it only turns to compost in a special “commercial compost facility”. If not, it breaksdown like a regular plastic cup. i.e. Never. I’m disappointed: In both the product and the marketing.

This is an interface for an iphone self-hypnosis app I’m working on. A session is composed of a series of audio clips, and the challenge was to show that these clips were related.

I realized that the rounded corners made them appear more like independent items, and but by only rounding the top and the bottom items in the list, it made them part of a group.

(btw, the colours in the background are not strictly part of the UI but are some groovy visuals that are triggered by the hypnotist’s voice. Just eye candy.)
